Bertani Catullo 2004

Bertani Catullo 750ml 2004
Sku: 9911

The Teroldego grapes are grown in gravelly soil in the Campo Rotaliano area in a superb micro-climate that enjoys ample daytime sunlight and warmth with chilly evenings. Lagrein grapes are grown in the alluvial soils of steep hillside (250-350 meter elevations) vineyards north of Trento . The Merlot grapes come from hilly, clay-based soils south of Trento, around the town of Rovereto where the climate is slightly warmer. All three regions are known as prime growing zones for their respective varieties.

Wine maker notes
Each grape has a different vinification. Manual harvest of Merlot takes place in the first half of September. The grapes are dried on mats for two months. Following this, the dried grapes are vinified at low temperatures (59F) in steel tanks. The harvest of Cabernet Sauvignon takes place at the end of September. The grapes are immediately vinified in steel tanks at a low temperature (59F). The harvest of Oseleta takes place in the first half of October. Grapes are immediately vinified in steel tanks at a low temperature (59F). The steel tanks are large and squat, designed to increase contact between skins and must.
