Ramos-Pinto’s wood-aged ports are blended from several vintages and several quintas. Unlike the majority
of port shippers, Ramos-Pinto owns almost all its own vineyards and controls grape quality from pruning
to harvest.
| Tasting notes |
| The Ramos-Pinto Ruby Port has a much denser, reddercolor than the Tawny Port. A cornucopia of aromas
greet the nose: cherry, blackberry, plum and raspberry. In the mouth it is fresh, vibrant and fruity; its
attack is voluminous. The finish is persistent and aromatic, leaving the opulent fruit flavors reverberating
on the palate. |
| Wine maker notes |
| This port is aged for three years in large chestnut casks. Contact with air is minimized to prevent oxidation
and preserve the wine’s youthful ruby-red hue. This method of maturation also retains the wines deep fruit
aromas and flavors, allowing it to be both velvety and youthful. |
| Food pairing |
| Considering the freshness, fruit and body of this wine, it should be consumed at room temperature. It is
wonderful with cheese and sweet desserts that are not acidic. |
