Veuve Clicquot Demi-Sec is blended largely from Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The blend is completed by about a quarter of Chardonnay and 15-25% of reserve wines. A higher dosage gives it richer notes without detracting from its freshness.

Wine Enthusiast 91 points This strikes a nice balance between fruit and sweetness, retaining plenty of fresh fruity acid structure. It’s like a sparkling Vouvray but with texture and depth; nothing sugary here. The flavors extend smoothly into a clean and layered finish. Score: 91. —Paul Gregutt, December 15, 2003. |
