Caparzo Brunello La Casa 1995

Caparzo Brunello La Casa 750ml 1995
Sku: 10022

The best expression of sangiovese, produced only across the better vintages, it is named after the “La Casa” vineyard located at 275 m above sea level in the northern area of Montalcino with South-South/East exposure and basically loose shale-sandy soil rich in skeletal material. Caparzo was one of the first growers to understand the influence of the terroir.

Tasting notes
COLOUR: ruby red, tending to garnet red with ageing. BOUQUET: penetrating, very full and varied, reminiscent of wild berries, spices and vanilla. FLAVOUR: dry, warm, full-bodied, harmonious, delicate and austere at the same time, persistent.

Wine Advocate 88 points (Oct 2001)
The complex, dark ruby/garnet-colored 1995 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna La Casa reveals earth, spice and mineral/vitamin-like notes along with herb-tinged cherry fruit. Substantial, with plenty of structure and tannin, this medium-bodied, tannic Brunello should age nicely for 10-12 years.

Food pairing
roasts, grilled, spit-roast or braised meats, game, ripe cheeses SERVING TEMPERATURE: 18 C, better if uncorked 1 - 2 hours before serving.
